Understanding the homepage

The Product Hunt homepage showcases curated products each day, but not every submission gets featured. Learn how the homepage works and what it means for your product.

The Product Hunt homepage displays a curated selection of products that the team believes align with platform guidelines, bring value to the community, and are on-topic for Product Hunt. This curation ensures the homepage remains focused on the most exciting and relevant launches.

However, every product submitted to Product Hunt is visible and discoverable. If your product isn't featured on the homepage, you can find it in the "All" feed by clicking "See all of today's products" at the bottom of the homepage. Your product can still receive comments, upvotes, and engagement even without homepage placement.

note

Not everything can be featured on the homepage. Many new products are submitted every day, and the team balances featuring diverse, high-quality launches that resonate with the community.

The Product Hunt team considers several factors when deciding what to feature:

Community engagement - Products that resonate with the audience through upvotes, comments, and discussions have a stronger chance of being featured. Genuine engagement from the community is a key signal.

On-topic content - Product Hunt focuses on mobile apps, websites, hardware projects, and tech creations. Products outside these areas may not be featured on the homepage, though they remain visible in the "All" feed.

Value to the community - Featured products should offer something meaningful to Product Hunt users, whether that's solving a real problem, introducing a novel approach, or sparking interesting conversations.

Alignment with guidelines - Products must follow Product Hunt's community guidelines and terms of service. Content that violates these guidelines may be removed.

Categories with limited homepage visibility

Based on community feedback, Product Hunt has limited homepage placement for certain product types, though they remain visible in the "All" feed:

  • Blog posts and articles
  • Courses and educational programs
  • Events and limited-time programs
  • Directories and lists
  • Templates and template collections
  • Service offerings
  • Lead magnet pages and guides

These products are valuable to the community, but the homepage is optimized for software, apps, and hardware launches.

Improving your chances

To maximize your product's visibility on Product Hunt:

  1. Engage with the community - Respond to comments, answer questions, and participate in discussions about your product.
  2. Share your launch - Drive traffic to your Product Hunt post from social media, email, and your website.
  3. Follow the guidelines - Ensure your product and all submissions align with Product Hunt's community and featuring guidelines.
  4. Provide value - Make sure your product solves a real problem or introduces something genuinely new to the community.
tip

Even if your product isn't featured on the homepage, you can still build momentum through the "All" feed and your product forum. Consistent engagement and community building can lead to visibility and growth over time.

Re-reviewing submissions

If your product wasn't featured but you believe it deserves another look, engage with the community and use their feedback to improve your product and messaging. You can resubmit a product after 6 months with significant updates. However, the decision on whether a product is featured remains at the Product Hunt team's discretion.
