Launching your first product
Submit your product to Product Hunt and reach an engaged community of makers and early adopters ready to discover what you've built.
Before you launch
Make sure your product is ready for public feedback. You'll need a working product or prototype, a clear description of what it does, images or screenshots, and a link to where users can access it. Product Hunt accepts mobile apps, websites, hardware projects, and other tech creations.
Your product must align with Product Hunt's guidelines. The platform focuses on tech products and innovations. Services, courses, events, blog posts, directories, and other non-tech offerings may not be featured on the homepage, though they can still be submitted and remain visible in the "All" feed.
All product launches must be associated with a personal account, not a company account. Make sure you're logged in with your personal Product Hunt profile before submitting.
Submit your product
- Log in to your Product Hunt account at producthunt.com.
- Click Post a product or visit producthunt.com/posts/new.
- Fill in your product details including the name, tagline, description, and product URL.
- Upload a thumbnail image and additional screenshots or media.
- Select the category that best fits your product.
- Review your submission and click Launch.
Once submitted, your product appears on Product Hunt and is visible to the community. You can edit your product page and respond to comments after launch.
Maximize visibility
Share your Product Hunt link with your community and encourage them to support your product. Drive traffic to your post from social media, email newsletters, and other channels. Products with higher organic traffic and community interaction are more likely to appear in search results and gain visibility.
Engage actively with comments and feedback. Respond to questions, address concerns, and participate in discussions about your product. This engagement signals to the community that you're invested in your product and responsive to feedback.
The first few hours after launch are critical. Early engagement and upvotes help your product gain momentum and visibility on the platform.
After launch
Your product remains on Product Hunt indefinitely. Even if it's not featured on the homepage, it stays visible in the "All" feed and can continue to receive upvotes, comments, and engagement.
You can resubmit a product after 6 months if you've made significant updates or improvements. Use feedback from your first launch to refine your product and messaging for the next submission.
Promoted products
If you want to boost your product's visibility beyond the organic launch, Product Hunt offers Promoted Products - paid advertisements that give extra visibility on the homepage and newsletter. Promoted Products are marked with a "PROMOTED" badge to distinguish them from everyday launches.
