Visibility and featuring
Understand how Product Hunt's homepage featuring works and what affects your product's visibility on the platform.
How visibility works
Every product submitted to Product Hunt is visible and discoverable. However, the homepage features a curated selection of products each day. Featured posts align with Product Hunt's guidelines, bring value to the community, and are on-topic for the platform.
Even if your product isn't featured on the homepage, it remains visible in the "All" feed. You can access the "All" feed by clicking "See all of today's products" at the bottom of the homepage, or by visiting producthunt.com/all. Your product can still receive comments, upvotes, and engagement in the "All" feed.
Not everything can be featured on the homepage. Many new products are submitted every day, and the team balances featuring diverse, high-quality launches that resonate with the community.
Factors affecting visibility
Community engagement - The first step is the community. Product Hunt is built around user interactions. A product needs to resonate with the audience through clear problem-solution fit, strong community support, or genuine interest. Genuinely engaging with the community through thoughtful comments, feedback, and discussions will help boost your product's visibility.
Alignment with guidelines - Your product must align with Product Hunt's guidelines. This includes being on-topic for the platform, offering something of value to the community, and following best practices for respectful and relevant content. Products that meet these criteria have a stronger chance of being featured.
Curation and diversity - Even with community upvotes and adherence to guidelines, the Product Hunt team can't guarantee that a product will be featured. Curating the homepage to ensure diversity and relevance requires a balancing act. It's not just about the most upvoted products, it's about ensuring a range of exciting new launches that align with the community's interests.
Improving your visibility
To maximize your product's visibility on Product Hunt:

-

-
Use your product forum - Post updates, ask for feedback, share learnings, and build a community around what you're building. Forum activity keeps your product visible and engaged.
-
Follow the guidelines - Ensure your product and all submissions align with Product Hunt's community and featuring guidelines.
Even if your product isn't featured on the homepage, you can still build momentum through the "All" feed and your product forum. Consistent engagement and community building can lead to visibility and growth over time.
Product types with limited homepage visibility
Based on community feedback, Product Hunt has limited homepage placement for certain product types, though they remain visible in the "All" feed:
| Product type | Status |
|---|---|
| Blog posts and articles | Limited homepage visibility |
| Courses and educational programs | Limited homepage visibility |
| Events and limited-time programs | Limited homepage visibility |
| Directories and lists | Limited homepage visibility |
| Templates and template collections | Limited homepage visibility |
| Service offerings | Limited homepage visibility |
| Lead magnet pages and guides | Limited homepage visibility |
These products are valuable to the community, but the homepage is optimized for software, apps, and hardware launches.
Re-reviewing submissions
If your submission wasn't featured but you think it deserves another look, engage with the community and use that feedback to improve your future submissions. You can resubmit a product after 6 months with significant updates. However, the decision on whether a product is featured remains at the Product Hunt team's discretion.
